O&P Technician

To become an O&P Technician one can complete a NCOPE-accredited technician program or obtain a high school diploma, GED, or college degree and have an interest in the industry to be willing to work under the supervision of an experienced technician or certified practitioner in orthotics, prosthetics, or both. An O&P Technician is a craftsman, enjoys using tools like a band saws, drills presses, vacuum systems, and heat guns as well as technologies like robotics, computer aided design and manufacturing systems, and 3-D printers to fabricate, repair, and maintain orthotic and prosthetic devices.
